Tarot, Lenormand, Kipper, Oracle Deck.... none of these have power on their own - they are tools. The power comes from you and how you use them, which is why every cartomancer is different. I choose to use all of my tools to further everyone’s journey through shadow into light. Soul evolution. Ascension of the spirit.
I’ve always been a visual, artistic and creative person, and I’ve always loved stories - I think that’s where my connection with tarot came from. The artistry + story (and mysterious origins) = match made in heaven. Add to that, it allowed me to connect with spirits in the Otherworld and my own guides, and what else could a witchy girl ask for?
My love of tarot has recently been rekindled by angelic communication, and revisiting shamanism (including shamanism practiced in past lives), and realising from a deep, instinctive level (rather than logical), that all systems and tools are connected, and have always been connected - for thousands of years and since ancient civilisations. All of it is JUST ENERGY. Some of it is conscious energy and some of it isn't. Our personal sorcery is how we work with and utilise all energies.
More recently, I’ve been enjoying connecting to angels without the cards - just talking to them and listening to their replies. Chatting to old friends - that’s what it feels like. It’s a wonderful feeling to connect to those who want to help you from the other side.
Divination is a beautiful thing because it can be used as a tool for personal guidance and empowerment. Some people don’t like the predictive element, but as long as we’re aware we’re always in control (we really are), then of course we’re allowed to be aware of the potential pitfalls ahead of us. Most of us actually already are - we already sense when something is about to happen. (How many times have we said, “I knew it! I just knew it!” after the event?) Tarot just shines a light on it so you can at the very least handle it the best way possible, even if it can’t be avoided. I always loved that it confirmed my gut instincts about things that then often did play out - it made me feel assured and less alone in my psychic wanderings. It allowed me to take responsibility and act on my instincts. Strange, isn’t it, that in this existence, we need to give ourselves permission to act on our instincts.
If you’re very truthful with yourself, tarot rarely tells you things you don’t already know or sense. It usually confirms things, and sometimes offers a different perspective on the situation, and guides you on how to move forward. It’s like going to a counsellor...
